Mr Lawrence Marufu
Lawrence Marufu is an MSc candidate who recently completed his BSc in Civil Engineering. His interest in water resources originates from both an academic background in environmental science and observing how society relates to and is impacted by water. His undergraduate research focused on the impacts of land surface temperature (LST) on water quality through geographical information systems (GIS) software like ArcGIS, giving him a strong foundation in remote sensing and geospatial analysis. His current research project investigates the effects of LST on water resources, using remote sensing technology to analyse and preserve water resources. With a strong interest in water conservation, he aims to learn more about how fluctuations in LST affect water bodies and ecosystems, using satellite photos and advanced data analysis techniques. His research uses analysis tools to find patterns and connections that might help guide sustainable water management strategies. Through this study, He hopes to provide vital insights that can help mitigate the negative consequences of climate change on our precious water resources.
