Total Organic Carbon Analyser

Analytik Jena multi N/C 3100 and solids module HT1300.

This instrument is shared with the Ceber research group in Chemical Engineering and is housed in their analytical laboratory. With this instrument we are able to detect total carbon (TC), total inorganic carbon (TIC), total organic carbon (TOC) by difference and total nitrogen (TN) in aqueous samples. For samples with high TIC and low TOC concentrations the non-purgeable organic carbon (NPOC) method can be used. The solids module is able to determine TC in solid, powder, paste, slurry or liquid samples, and TOC may be determined after acid digestion.

Thermo Scientific Gallery

The Gallery Discrete Photometric Analyser is housed in the Water Quality Laboratory and is used to automatically perform a broad range of colorimetric and enzymatic tests. This includes nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, phosphate, urea, sulphate, chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium.
