The potential of stormwater harvesting in Cape Town
How can high resolution continuous data support stormwater harvesting in Cape Town? A high resolution remote monitoring instrument designed by researchers at the University of Cape Town measured 42ML of stormwater in an urban river over a five hour period during a 25mm rainfall event - a 10th of Cape Town's daily potable water requirement! . We can use data like this to answer questions such as how to capture, store and manage stormwater to augment our potable water supply.
