Ms Onkabetse Modisakeng
Onkabetse Modisakeng holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and is currently an MSc candidate at the University of Cape Town, specializing in Water Quality Engineering. Having worked closely with the previously drought-stricken City of Cape Town, she is passionate about how urban areas can adopt more sustainable water management practices.
Her research focuses on the advanced purification of wastewater for drinking purposes. She is particularly interested in the role of potable water reuse in building climate-resilient cities, optimizing resource recovery from wastewater, and bridging the gap between research and real-world implementation.
Through her research, Onkabetse hopes to contribute to the growing field of water reclamation and reuse, supporting the development of resilient and sustainable water systems in Africa.
