Dr Megan Cole (Future Water)

Junior Research Fellow

Dr Megan Cole has a DPhil in Geography and Environmental Sciences from the University of Oxford (2017). She joined the Minerals to Metals initiative at UCT in 2017 as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow looking at operationalising the Sustainable Development Goals in the mining industry. She worked previously for the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford on climate change policy in developing countries (2010 – 2012), and for Anglo American Platinum as a geotechnical engineer at the Mogalakwena mine (2003 – 2006) and a project and research manager at the Johannesburg head office (2006-2010). Her research interests include Sustainable Development Goals and indicators; data for development; water-energy-land nexus; mining and sustainable development; mine water management; and measuring inequality.
