Ms Lona Magobiane

Lona is currently pursuing her MSc. in Water Quality Engineering. She successfully completed her BSc. In Applied Geology and Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Water Resource Management. Her Postgraduate Diploma focused on Groundwater Management, Sustainable Water Management, Water Quality Management and Environmental Management. 

Her research focuses on groundwater, water quality, and sustainable water management practices. She aims to identify opportunities for resilient, water-sensitive approaches in both rural and urban communities. Lona is a firm believer that people are the custodians of the environment and have the responsibility to protect and preserve it for future generations to come. Through her research, she hopes to be of service to these communities and the environment that serves them.

Outside of her academics, Lona enjoys hiking, learning how to draw and engaging with African literature.
