Ms Kalpana Maraj (Chem. Eng.)

Kalpana Maraj is a PhD candidate at the Future Water Institute under the supervision of Associate Professor Kevin Winter and Associate Professor Anwar Jardine. Her PhD focuses on the design of nature-based treatment systems for the removal of pharmaceuticals from surface waters polluted by informal settlements. Kalpana is a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and is involved in teaching in the undergraduate curriculum. Her research interests include water resource management, contaminants of emerging concern, water quality, and nature-based solutions.
