UKRI GCRF Equitable Resilience awards
The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Water and Fire project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Future Water Institute, the University of Stirling, the Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation, and the University of the Western Cape. It aims to work with local knowledge to better understand community and individual responses to climate-change induced (water and fire related) crises in the Cape Flats area of South Africa. The project team is now fully formulated, with the recent addition of four new postdoctoral research associates to the team – including Dr Tsitsi Mpofu-Mkweta who is based at UCT and jointly supervised by Dr Kirsty Carden (Acting Director: Future Water Institute) and Dr Guy Lamb (Director: Safety and Violence Initiative).
